The short version: we collect what's needed to run your account and nothing more. We run our own analytics, we don't use advertising trackers, and we never sell your data. Here's the long version.
1. What we collect
- Account — your name, email address, and avatar, from Google sign-in or from the email you enter for a PIN. Avatars you upload are stored on our file storage.
- Billing — handled entirely by Stripe. We store your plan, subscription status, and a Stripe customer reference; your card number never touches our servers.
- Usage — first-party analytics we run ourselves: page views, section unlocks, theme changes. This stays in our own database. There are no third-party analytics scripts, ad pixels, or advertising trackers on the site.
- Email engagement— we measure opens and link clicks on the emails we send, so we know what’s worth sending.
- Cookies — a cookie for your theme preference and the session that keeps you signed in. No advertising cookies.
2. How we use it
- Running your account: sign-in, plan status, unlock metering.
- Transactional email: sign-in PINs and a welcome note. Receipts come from Stripe directly.
- Occasional product updates — new sections, mostly. Every one has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing never affects transactional email.
- Understanding which sections resonate, so we build better ones.
3. Who processes it
Payments are processed by Stripe — your card details go to Stripe directly and never touch our servers. Beyond that, we rely on a small set of service providers to run Motion (hosting, database, email delivery, file storage), each processing data only on our behalf and only to operate the service.
We don’t sell your data, share it with advertisers, or pass it to data brokers.
4. How long we keep it
Account data lives for as long as your account does. Sign-in PINs are single-use and expire within minutes. If you delete your account, we remove your profile and personal data; some billing records are kept as required for tax and accounting.
5. Your rights
Email hello@motionin.design to access, correct, export, or delete the data we hold about you. Deletion requests are honored promptly — there is no retention scheme to talk you out of it.
6. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a fresh date. For material changes we’ll email account holders first.
